This concert was the second of two dates in the Netherlands as part of the 2008 European Born Into This Tour.
The band was in good shape, relaxed and played a tight set for a audience of 1000 enthusiastic fans. The setlist was filled with specialties some rare and old songs and their new single "Illuminated" was played live for the first time.
The recording was made from about 5 meters of the stages in the center. Although the sound was very loud, the acoustics were quite good in the Melkweg.

The Editors 1 - The Cult 0

Wow...
What A Rockin' Weekend This Was..
Friday, The Cult (See Below), Saturday, A(n Unexpected) Monza Gig And Sunday The Editors @ Hof Ter Lo.

First Saturday Evening.
My Sweet Girlfriend (See Below Again !!) Told Me After "The Cult's" Gig On Friday She Had Seen A Poster For A Free "Monza" Gig On Saturday @ Hof Ter Lo. So Saturday Around 7.00 PM We Went To The Venue To See What Was Happening That Day.. And Indeed (as always *LOL*) She Was Right. So We Got Our Free Wristbands And Checked Out The First Band (Whose Name I've Forgotten). Later We Found Out That The "Monza" Show Was Scheduled For 11.30 PM, So We Went Back Home To Get Something To Eat & Rest (After A Wild BOINKSESSION *GRIN*). Around 11.30 We Were Back @ The Venue Just In Time For Monza. To Make It Short .. Monza Rocks.. Stijn Meuris Is An Excellent Frontman.. The Band Kicks Ass. That's It..

The Sunday
Back To Hof Ter Lo.. The First Of 3 Belgian "Editors" Show Had Been Sold Out For Quite A While And We Forgot To Order Tickets.. With Prices Going Up To 50 Euro For A Ticket On Ebay, We Would Try To Score At Least One Ticket For My HoneyBee (She's The HUGE Editors Fan). Luck Was On Our Side (apparantly The Whole Weekend - See The Cult Gig .. More Than 300 Buxx Made On An Iron Maiden Boxset On Ebay - My HoneyBee Got A RARE OOP 8-Track For Her Collection @ A Decent Price) We Got 2 Tickets For 70 Euro's.
Was It worth It ?? You Bet..
The Editors Are A Mighty Fine Band. And This Is Were The Title Of This Blog Entry Comes From.. Me.. I'm A HUMONGOUS 70's Classic Rock Fan With A Large Taste In All Other Music.. So The Cult Should Have Been The Highlight Of The Weekend.. It Wasn't.. The Editors Won..

They Came .. And Conquered..

The Cult - AB Club - Brussels, Belgium - March 7 2008

Rawk 'n Roll On A Friday Night...

Here's The "REAL" Setlist ... Eat Your Heart Out Marcus .. *LOL*What A Surprise To See Joey Tempesta (ex Testament And White Zombie) Banging Away On The Drums.
More Metal On The Bass By The Way By Chris Wyse Whose Mug Even Appears In Metallica's "Some Kind Of Monster".
My HoneyBee Had A Good Catch ... Ian's Tambourine, Chris' Bass Pick And A Setlist To Go.

So.. The Million Dollar Question .. Was It Any Good ?? Dunno... First Time I Saw Them Live.. I Wasn't Dissapointed, But I Feel They Could Have Given A Better Show. Or Should I Say "Ian" Could Have Given A Better Show.. As He Was The Weak Link To Me..

But Hey ... It Was A Great Way To Start The Weekend...

this show was a replacement for a cancelled Sheryl Crow show during ACL weekend 2004. The guys that run the CC knew they could call on Charlie, Doyle and double trouble, and they delivered...with Sheryl and Peter joining in, while Lance roamed around backstage.
We we're lucky enough to score tix the night before when a friend wandered in there and inquired about Sheryl tix. he was told she cancelled but a band called the Arc Angels were playing. My buddies response was, "OK, what can i do to get 6 tix?"
he went to the bar, bout a 6-pack, and the rest was history. We had to leave ACL a bit early, walk hella far to get back to hotel...shower, change, pack up my stealth rig, and head on over to the Continental. As huge Doyle and Arc Angels fans, we we're all in heaven. AMAZING NIGHT!
The boys delivered. I was probably 15 feet from stage, dead center...and this audio will prove it. ENJOY!!!
